ELEVATE GOES TO MATAMOROS

For me, going to Matamoros Mexico was not just a fun-filled summer adventure. It was a life changing journey. Little did I know, as I stepped into the van that would take me across the border, that my life as I knew it would never be the same. When I was in Matamoros, I formed some of the greatest friendships and bonds that I know will last forever! I stepped out past my comfort zone, attempting to communicate with others in Spanish and praying for
people I didn’t know. I came face to face with real lives that could only be healed and changed by Jesus. There is truly nothing more amazing than telling others about Jesus. To see the look on the people’s faces when you gave them something as simple as a toiletry pack, or just simply prayed for them was amazing. Knowing that God used you to touch someone else’s life is so rewarding. There’s really no greater feeling than to know that you’re doing what God called us all to do – to preach the gospel.

One of the greatest experiences in my life!!! I’d tell anyone to go even if your not into mission trips. It truly is a humbling experience and it makes you realize how much people are suffering all over the world…Going on this trip really made me become very grateful for what I have and gave me a greater compassion for people in need. Not just in need for the daily necessities of life, but the need of a relationship with Jesus. So go and I promise you won’t regret it!!
