Identity Camp :: Summer 09′

Camp was a blast!  We had a ton of fun, played awesome games, and experienced God’s presence!  Pastor Chris and Pastor Tyron brought God’s word to us as we learned about our Identity in Christ.  We never need to worry about what tomorrow brings or what people think about us!  We can walk confidently in who God has created us to be!

The Fear of the Lord

I have been reading a book entitled ‘Intimate Friendship with God’ by Joy Dawson.  She talks about having intimate friendship with God through understanding the fear of the Lord. I want to share some truths that God has been revealing to me!

The FEAR OF THE LORD should do two things:
FIRST, produce in us the same attitude toward sin that God has, which is to hate it.  SECOND, to give us a deep respect for and understanding of the holiness of God, the power of God, and the total sufficiency of God to meet man’s need.

‘The fear of the Lord’ can sound big and vague to us – but I love this definition.  My heart is that we would be women who fear the Lord – who hate what God hates and love what He loves.  May we know who God is and the fact that He is more than enough for us!  This will allow us to experience the intimate friendship that God longs to have with us!

Each woman today needs to understand and accept the strength of her God-given influence, choose to be the greatest possible influence towards holiness to every man who comes across the pathway of her life, and pray fervently it will be so.  The FEAR OF THE LORD makes it so.

As women of God – we have an opportunity to influence those around us!  My prayer for us is that we would be women who encourage our brothers! As we walk out in the fear of the Lord – we will be secure in who we are in Christ and we will see the guys in our lives as God sees them.  We are called to walk in community and I believe that there is power when we can walk together in healthy friendships!

Will you be a woman who helps a man be holy or a woman who hinders a man from being holy?

What does it look like to walk out in ‘The Fear of the Lord’ in your daily life?

This is a quote that I heard in a teaching a few years ago and God continues to bring it back up in my mind. I would get overwhelmed by how far I had to go to be like Christ. I felt like a failure at times – but God continued to speak this truth over my life.

God is speaking this to you too! We can be so prone to looking at the things that are wrong with us – focused on things we can’t do. The enemy loves for us to be in that place because it keeps us focused on ourselves…BUT this is not God’s heart for us! God’s heart for us is to see ourselves as He does. We are loved and He is focused on the fact that Jesus paid the ultimate price for us so that we may walk in relationship with Him. We are not called to do things in our own strength – but all things are possible through Christ! Allowing God to move in His ability through your life is a beautiful thing. He has more in store for you than you could ever imagine!

My prayer for you is that you would see yourself as God sees you! Ask God what He thinks about you…He will be faithful to tell you!

Summer Days… Summer nights!

Hey girls – I am looking forward to this summer and feel like there are BIG things that God has in store! We want to have some good time for us as girls to hang out and build our friendships while having fun! More information will be coming to let you know about some girls’ events that we have planned – get excited!

I want to personally invite you to our first ever Jr High summer camp, “Identity”. This year we will have about 50 students attend this amazing week full of enthusiasm and excitement, but most importantly, full of God.
