The best is in store

January 8, 2010

A group of us went to hear T.D. Jakes speak last Sunday night at Gateway.  God spoke through him in powerful ways and I wanted to share some of those things with you as we look forward to all that God has for this next year!

And he made known to us the MYSTERY OF HIS WILL according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ

Ephesians 1.9

SEEKING God enriches us!  There is something specific that God has for us as we seek Him that cannot be learned if it was just given to us.  God has the best in store for you – we don’t always see what He is doing – but we can trust that He is moving.  The blessings that God has for us cannot be taken by anyone else.  They are being kept for us and will be there when it’s His timing to give them to us!

As we begin this year I want to encourage you to seek God!  He has the BEST in store for you… not just good things… but the BEST!  Hearing a word from God is worth the wait.  He wants to speak to you – too often we just don’t slow down to listen.

Join us for Prepare 10 as we seek God together as a church for this next year!

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – meet in Elevate Auditorium @ 6.30!

GREAT JOY

December 9, 2009

Girls – We had an amazing night at JOY! I love you girls and believe that God has BIG things in store for you during this Christmas season! I love this time of year… seeing all the decorations and lights… buying gifts… listening to Christmas music!

In the midst of this busy season – my prayer for you is that you would experience the JOY OF THE LORD in deeper ways than ever before! We celebrate the birth of Jesus, who ultimately died for you and me, allowing us to have a relationship with God! That is a powerful and exciting TRUTH!

Luke 2.9-11 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.

I LOVE you girls!

Learning to TRUST

October 28, 2009

I was reading through an old journal and came across this entry – I feel like learning to TRUST has been a life-long process!  It is a process that is worth going through – God is worthy of our TRUST!

TRUST:
-    Why is it so hard?
-    Why do I seem to be learning this constantly?
-    What does it truly mean?
-    Why is it scary at times?
It takes humility
It takes vulnerability
It digs deep
It takes sacrifice
I have to let go
I have to stop worrying
I have to place my confidence in my Lord
I have to remember God’s faithfulness and presence in the past…His Character
It requires intimacy
-    Am I willing?
-    Am I open?
-    Am I ready?
-    Will I let go?

LIFE is all about TRUST!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
- Colossians 3.23-24 -

The school year has begun and it’s full steam ahead!  Recently, God reminded me of a time when He gave me His perspective on my schoolwork.  During finals week my freshman year of college, God gave me the verses stated above.  My first semester I had done well but was stressed out during finals; I knew God’s heart wasn’t for me to be stressed out, so I went to the Word.  These verses talk about working for the Lord and not for men…I learned how to do my schoolwork as worship to God, not just to get a grade.  It was such a freeing thing to be able to do my work as worship!  We gain a reward as we do all things for God and not for men!

I’m excited about this school year! Don’t underestimate the impact you can have!

God is at work!

August 20, 2009

God is moving in powerful ways all around us.  Below is another testimony from our summer camp: Revolution 09.  God did amazing things in our lives and we believe that this is just the beginning of all he has in store for the fall!

Taylor Belcoff – Sophomore at Fossil Ridge High School

I went to camp with the thought of ‘oh it’s just something that will give me something to do.’ I knew God was going to do something in my life, and I was ready for it, but I was not quite expecting what happened. On the very first night there, I was overwhelmed with what God did.  So many salvations in just the first night alone! The turning point would have to be the night we talked about the Holy Spirit. I overcame so much stuff that night! What really got me that day was later when all the ladies got together and did the wedding.  Betsy prayed for me and right away it felt like everything was lifted off of my shoulders. The very next night Pastor Johnnie preached about sin and how it can just tear you away for all that God has for you. That night I just humbled myself to the Lord and asked God to forgive me for all I have done the past few months. Right then I knew God has amazing things planned for my life.  I know that God loves me. Camp was so amazing; there are not words that can explain what happened that week! Now I know God is a forgiving God that loves all of us, and will never leave us! God did amazing things at camp, and I am truly glad I went and experienced that!

Revolution Camp 09

August 17, 2009

We had an amazing time at high school camp!  God showed up in powerful ways and lives were transformed!  Below is a testimony from one of our students…more testimonies are to come!

Libby Khalil – Junior at Saginaw High School

Camp for me this year was an experience that I will never forget. In the past, I used to be the girl that “got saved every summer”, or in other words, was always recommitting my life to Christ. I was a half-hearted Christian and I didn’t officially know Jesus. In April, I was more desperate for God than I had ever been in my life.  I got to the point where I wanted it more than anything, not just needed it more than anything.  I surrendered my life and everything I had to offer to God.  There was still one thing blocking me, and that was a relationship I was in. We had been dating around a year and a half, and our relationship was extremely unhealthy, and displeasing to God. I felt like God had been telling me for several months to end it, but I was just so wrapped up in this guy that I was ignoring God.  A few weeks before camp, God really put it on my heart more than ever. Using every bit of strength inside of me, I stepped up and did it. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, but once I did it, it was like a whole new life. I began to feel security in God and He opened my eyes to so much more than I can even explain.  I was so ready to fully open my heart to God, and expect big things to come from camp. Camp was so different for me this year, because I knew my identity in Christ and I could feel and see Him working more clearly. I prayed that He would give me boldness and security in reaching out to others, but He did SO much more! He put a burden on my heart for other people and I desperately prayed that people who were in the position I was in last summer would win victory in Christ. I saw many people overcome a lot; chains were broken in people’s lives. God started a revolution in my heart and the hearts of others, and I can’t wait to use His strength and wisdom to start a revolution in my school. This summer, God has given me healing in every broken area in my life. He has shown me that when you are expectant with faith, He will show up in ways we never even dreamed of praying about!
